Project 10.7 calls on our community to pay tribute to the many lives lost as a result of the horrific terror attack initiated on Shemini Atzeret (Simchat Torah) 5784-October 7th, 2023.
Participants from each community & shul choose one of 10 foundational mitzvot and perform it 7 times, in honour of 10 specific souls .
Through these mitzvot, we’ll transform darkness into light, affirm life, and demonstrate the unshakeable resilience and solidarity of the Jewish people.
Each mitzvah becomes a ripple of goodness. When performed together with over 500 shuls worldwide who are joining this initiative, these mitzvot will create a wave of resilience, hope and unbreakable solidarity to commemorate the lives of over 1,800 men, women, and children taken from us.
Additionally, a beautiful Honour Board will be displayed in our shul on Simchat Torah recognising all who took part in honouring the 10 souls designated to our community, perpetuating their light through our actions.
The commitments Moorabbin Shul & L’Chaim Chabad-Kingston community take on will be shared with the families of these 10 victims to demonstrate our solidarity in their grief.
As we usher in the New Year, let’s remember that every mitzvah matters. Every act of kindness counts. May our collective efforts help to honor those we’ve lost and elevate their souls.
